About the course
This live, 12-week course is designed for anyone ready to reconnect with their creative side through the art of hand lettering. You’ll explore a mix of analog techniques, (but are free to work digitally if that is your comfort zone) while learning how concept, expression, and design thinking come together to create truly memorable lettering. Whether you’re brand new to lettering or a creative professional looking to expand your skill set, you’ll leave with confidence, a refined eye, and a collection of work that reflects your creative spark. *This is a LEVEL 1 CLASS: No prerequisites. Ages 17+. Creatives at Heart to Creative Directors.
Your Instructor
Hi, I’m Colleen Finn — a designer, illustrator, and lifelong lettering enthusiast. My obsession with hand lettering started back in a high school drafting class, long before computers were part of the process. My teacher said, “From now on, be deliberate about every letter you ever make.” That one sentence stuck with me and shaped everything I’ve done since. Through this course, I’m excited to help you tap into that same creative spark — to slow down, explore, and rediscover the joy of putting pen to paper with purpose. Beyond building skill, this class offers a rare chance to step away from the screen and experience the focus, calm, and satisfaction that come from making something by hand.
