Color Strategy for Professional Creatives

Tuesdays (6:30-8:30pm EST) & Thursdays (6:30-8:00pm EST)
June 28th-September 19, 2026 (8 Students Max)

This course is about understanding color beyond aesthetics and learning how it quietly shapes emotion, perception, storytelling, branding, trends, and human behavior.

In this advanced live course, students will explore the psychology, cultural impact, and forecasting of color through a multidisciplinary lens combining design, branding, trend analysis, emotional intelligence, and visual storytelling. Throughout the course, students will learn how color influences consumer choices, spatial perception, entertainment, fashion, hospitality, wellness, and cultural movements.

Students will develop a deeper understanding of how color trends emerge, why certain colors dominate specific eras, and how to build emotionally compelling and culturally relevant palettes. Through creative exercises, trend analysis, case studies, and conceptual development, students will strengthen their creative instincts while learning how to use color intentionally rather than instinctively.

By the end of the course, students will have developed their own color concepts, trend narratives, and professionally presented palette directions that can be integrated into future creative projects, branding, entertainment, interiors, fashion, or experiential work.

PREREQUISITES: Students should already work within a creative field or possess a strong visual sensibility and basic knowledge of creative software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Procreate, Canva or equivalent tools. Strong conceptual thinking and curiosity about visual culture are highly encouraged

About the Course

Tuesdays 6:30-8:30pm EST & Thursdays 6:30-8:00pm EST

This live 12-week course focuses on understanding color as an emotional, cultural, and strategic tool. Students will learn how color impacts memory, mood, branding, storytelling, trend cycles, and human connection while exploring real-world examples across entertainment, fashion, interiors, retail, hospitality, and media.

The course encourages students to become highly observant of the visual world around them and decode the hidden reasoning behind color decisions used by brands, designers, filmmakers, and trend forecasters. Students will explore color forecasting methodologies, cultural shifts, emotional design, sensory perception, and palette building while developing their own creative voice and chromatic intuition.

Throughout the course, students will create original color narratives, emotional palettes, and conceptual projects intended to strengthen both their creative thinking and professional presentation skills. By the end of the experience, students will not only see color differently, they will understand how to use it intentionally to create emotional impact and memorable experiences.

Meet Your Instructor

Hi, I’m Marie-Chantal Milette, an internationally recognized color expert, trend forecaster, speaker, and founder of Kryptonie. My work explores the emotional, psychological, and cultural power of color and how it influences the way we consume, connect, and experience the world around us.

For years, I’ve helped brands, designers, and organizations strategically position themselves through color while also becoming known internationally for accurately predicting Pantone’s Color of the Year on multiple occasions.

My background spans graphic design, marketing, color forecasting, sensory branding, experiential design, and wellness-centered environments. I also pursued specialized studies with the University of Stirling in Scotland focused on designing for people living with dementia, an experience that profoundly expanded my understanding of how color influences wellbeing, orientation, cognition, and emotional comfort.

More than anything, I believe color is one of the most underestimated creative tools we possess. My goal is not simply to teach color theory, but to completely transform the way students perceive and experience color in their everyday lives and creative careers.

I look forward to helping you sharpen your creative instincts, trust your intuition, and discover the extraordinary power color holds to shape emotions, stories, brands, environments, and culture itself.
