About the Course

This live (online), 12-week course is a foundational introduction to Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, designed for anyone ready to build professional-level software skills from the ground up. You’ll spend four weeks in each program, learning essential tools, workflows, and best practices while also developing a strong understanding of core design principles.

Rather than rushing through features, this course focuses on clarity, confidence, and real-world application. You’ll leave knowing how the programs fit together, how to approach new projects without panic, and how to continue building your skills with purpose.

This is a LEVEL 1 CLASS: No prerequisites. Ages 17+. Ideal for career-curious students, creatives building foundational skills, and anyone ready to move beyond templates and gain confidence using industry-standard tools. You will need an Adobe Creative Cloud subscription.

Students who complete the course will receive a Certificate of Completion. (Please note: this is a certificate course, not an Adobe certification.)

Build Confidence Across Three Core Programs

Software skills matter, but knowing what to do with them matters more. Throughout this course, you’ll learn foundational design principles alongside the tools themselves — including hierarchy, spacing, composition, and visual clarity — so your work doesn’t just function, it communicates. You’ll gain a practical understanding of when to use each program, how they work together, and how to move confidently between them as part of a real creative workflow.

  • Photoshop

    Learn how to work with images cleanly and non-destructively — from selections and masking to retouching, color correction, and exporting files properly for different uses.

  • Illustrator

    Build precision and control through vector tools, shapes, and the Pen tool. You’ll learn how to create icons, marks, and simple logo systems while understanding how vector files are used in professional settings.

  • InDesign

    Discover how layouts actually come together. You’ll learn how to structure pages, manage typography, create multi-page documents, and prepare files correctly for print and digital output.

Meet Your Instructor

Heyo! I’m Richard Nenoff — an award-winning graphic designer, typography nerd, and educator with over 15 years of experience in publishing, branding, and event design. I’ve spent my career creating thoughtful layouts, strong visual systems, and editorial design that makes complex ideas easier to understand (and far less intimidating than they sometimes seem).

Alongside my professional work, I taught Typography I & II at The Creative Circus for nearly five years, helping students build strong fundamentals, confidence in their creative choices, and a healthy respect for good typography. I love breaking down big concepts, answering “wait, why does this actually work?” questions, and teaching design in a way that’s practical, encouraging, and occasionally funny.

No prior experience required — curiosity helps, mistakes are welcome, and I promise you won’t break anything.
